Enjoy private gardens and pool or relax, read and catch up on email with our fast internet connection. Create your own menu from our extensive cookbook collection or ask our chefs to recommend an Indonesian specialty. Then choose from three locations as to where you want to have your dinner. Dine while overlooking the river, or on a private Bale dinning area (Balinese gazebo) beside a cascading Koi pond while enjoying our applauded homemade red wine. Previous guests have been surprisingly pleased by how inexpensive this exclusive service is and commented they felt like visiting royalty minus the extravagant prices of luxury resorts.
1. Uma Anyar
Our own two story luxury villa for up to four persons featuring a large living room and dining area with wrap around pool, an airy light filled double bedroom downstairs overlooking rice fields, full kitchen, laundry room, office and an elegant high roofed master bedroom upstairs with a porch and a comfortable open air private lounge.
Breakfast and once daily round trip transport into Ubud are included. Airport pickup and drop off with our local drivers is recommended and reasonable.
2. Rumah Tamu
Get 5 star private luxury style villa at affordable prices. Includes breakfast and once daily round-trip transport into town, 15 minutes by car. For your privacy the entire villa is rented to one party at a time:
1 bedroom, 2 persons $120.00 per night
2 bedrooms, 3 persons $150.00 per night
3 bedrooms, 4 persons $180.00 per night
Rumah Tamu means Guest House and it is Villa Uma Anyar’s most requested lodging. This unique accommodation was designed by the Balinese architect Kadek. Rumah Tamu is a harmonious fusion of East and West architecture design, which affords guests comfort, creativity and style.
3. Writer’s Studio
A large, comfortable studio, bathroom and relaxing bale with river and rice field views.
Two persons, $72 per night includes a delicious breakfast. Furnished with a refrigerator, microwave, water dispenser, self service beverages and a relaxing outdoor but private massage hut.
Guest Access
We rent to one party at a time so you have complete privacy and use of the whole villa including free parking in the front.
Interaction and Service
We like to meet you personally and tell you about your choice of accommodation, our staff and our services. This gives you a chance to ask questions and get settled. There after our manager, Gede, is available to assist you in making your daily plans and arranging transportation. We provide free WiFi and mobile phones for your comfort and convenience. .
The Neighborhood
Villa Uma Anyar is located in Banjar (community group) Apuh of about 45 familiees. It is off the main road through Mawang village in a grove of coconut trees surrounded by rice fields and next to a slow winding river. This community is an authentic village where you can see Balinese daily life and yet is close enough to enjoy the cultural activities and excitement of Ubud.
Getting Around
For additional rides into Ubud, for sightseeing or car and boat trips to Lombok, Gili or Lembongan islands there are many local (English speaking, one French speaking and one Korean speaking) drivers for hire. You may rent a car for about USD 20 a day or motorcycles for USD 5 a day. I will do all the arrangements and put you in good hands. Fees for all day excursions vary but are reasonable priced. The fees go directly to the drivers and their families. Unlike the big expensive resorts, Villa Uma Anyar does not take a cut of their earnings.
Other Things to Note
A simple luncheon menu is always available. For dinners two private chefs, can shop and cook a delicious meal for you with one day notice. You select the menu from our wide variety of Indonesian and Western recipes. The price of a privately cooked dinner is the cost of the food plus USD 10 for dinner preparation, service and cleanup. This specialized private dining costs less than most restaurants in Ubud. You may also like to cook with our chefs.
Feel free to create your own menu. Our chefs, Wayan And Kadek, offer Indonesian cooking classes right in the villa kitchen. Several guests have raved about this experience and said they would be back to learn more. For very special occasions, like weddings or honeymoon celebrations we can ask a top-notch 5 star restaurant chefs to come to the villa and prepare a 5 or 7-course gourmet dinner at half the price of the prestigious restaurants.
Massages are available on site for USD 12.50 per hour.
Laundry service is available at a very reasonable cost.

The host is really nice,welcoming us make us feel like were home, the landscape n surrounding is very in to nature with a breathtaking view of rice paddies and river just the way we like it.

We had an excellent one week stay at Villa Uma Anyar. The villa is lovely, and the photos tell that story. Of greater value to us was the excellent support of the manager (Gedde) and staff: we had all our breakfasts and dinners prepared at the villa for us, and it was all lovely and fresh and very fair value (breakfast was included in the rental cost). A driver and modern van were available to us and very accommodating: this is particularly handy given the villa is 20 minutes from Ubud where you're likely to end up a few times at least. The staff sorted our tour activities for us and all that happened without a hitch. The real test came when one of our party fell ill and there was a question over his fitness to fly back to Australia with the flight leaving in eight hours: Gedde and the driver helped us see a doctor at no notice, and we had a blood test and a second consultation to gain the (good) results all inside four hours which we couldn't have done at home? We could not have been looked after better. All in all, a really memorable holiday for us. Book this lovely villa and know that you'll have the bonus of being in safe and helpful hands.

We had two wonderful days at Villa Uma Anyar. Every-one was so warm-hearted and made us feel very welcome. The studio is beautiful and we felt really comfortable. The massage, the dinner and Gede's helpful nature made the stay perfect. Thanks for everything. We would love to comeback soon.

Staying at Villa Uma Anyar was amazing. We had such a lovely time in a very contemporary Balinese villa. The stay was serene and peaceful, very unique. We felt amazing while there and so relaxed when we left. All our questions were answered and responded to by Gede and the staff instantly. Breakfast was delicious and a dip in the pool each afternoon was very refreshing. The room was spacious and the local area very nice. Ubud was about 20-30 mins up the road on a scooter but it was nice to escape the hustle and bustle of Ubud and return to the villa in the afternoon. We even had one day where we didn't leave! Thank you to Gede and the staff as our stay was amazing!!
